Good morning! It’s Wednesday, April 16th.

Librarian Day.

When asked for a comment, the librarians said, “shh”

And now, the news.

Abrego Garcia

-via AP News

Starting again with the story of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, because if you haven’t realized that this is the most important story happening right now… it’s time to start realizing that.

On Tuesday, a federal judge ordered the sworn testimony of four Trump administration officials who work for ICE, Homeland Security, and the State Department because, as noted in the order, the Trump administration has “done nothing at all” to bring Garcia home.

The hearing is expected to take two weeks and, while it proceeds, they need to at least “remain obligated, at a minimum, to take the steps available to them toward aiding, assisting, or making easier Abrego Garcia’s release.”

Positive steps forward but now we wait to see if the Trump officials will show up and, if they do, if they’ll cooperate.

Politics. Constitutional crisis.

While a man, who was in this country legally, remains in a torture prison because we elected this feckless, fraction of a man who is cruel by choice, just to be cruel.

Listen, I know this is going to sound wild but…

And that’s it. That’s the news.

A couple things. First of all this Abrego Garcia case is the biggest story happening right now. On both a micro and macro level.

And as I do sometimes, I don’t want to distract us from still story that is setting up a very serious situation.

But also… I’m just super busy at work.

Hey, if you want full episodes Monday through Friday… give my $5 million. That’s how much it would cost. $5 million.

High production value here.

Speaking of being busy at work… I would also not expect an episode tomorrow. We’re gonna try again for Monday!

But in the meantime, be talking about this… the government kidnapped a man, sent him to another country, and is entering us into a constitutional crisis in hopes that we will be so complicit that we’ll let them do it again and again and again.

And because I know you will, and also I know you’re looking out for that $5 mil… I’m proud of you.
