Casual Pi Day
Okay… so you know about Pi Day, on March 14th?
Casual Pi Day is it’s super chill all of the time cousin – casual pi day.
Pi is the exact ratio of a circle’s circumference to its diameter. If you measure the distance around any perfect circle and divide it by the distance straight across, you will always get 3.17 etc etc etc
Caszh Pi is rounded off. Pi is 3.17. But in a fraction that looks like 22/7. And if you’re Bri’ish, or just really love pies and looking for a way to celebrate – 22/7 is July 22nd.
I’m on board with so many Bri’ish things. I get the crisps and chips and all of it… the date thing? I’m sorry. It doesn’t work for me.

Update: Iran

Starting in Iran, where if you’ve got a few billion, the Pentagon would loooooove to borrow it. Testifying before Congress on Tuesday, Pete Hegseth shout-talked at members of Congress to ask-demand for more money after admitting that this war, that Congress never even approved and was supposed to be done and dusted after like three days, and which Trump has told us has been won about 17 different times, has already cost $37.5 billion.
BILLION.
Hegseth’s testimony came ahead of the 11th night of strikes against Iran.
Hey, would you like to hear about how absolutely disgusting the president whose dad paid a doctor to say he had bone spurs so he never had to serve in the military is?
So far, at least 19 servicemembers have died in this war. That’s 19 too many.
Today, Trump is meant to attend a dignified transfer for one of those servicemembers.
He took to Temu Twitter to say give the number of servicemember deaths in the Afghanistan, Iraq, Vietnam, and Korean wars (as well as what he says is the “Venezuela War” which wasn’t a war, it was removing Maduro from office – which the country wanted him to do).
And the way he wrote it is like: Afghanistan War: 20 years, 2,000 DEAD.
And every time he writes the word “dead” it’s in all caps. That part, to me, is particularly callous.
Like – see guys? See how much better I am? I’ve hardly killed anyone! And not for nothing, but he did that BEFORE a 4th servicemember killed in Jordan was identified.
He doesn’t care. He doesn’t care about the troops, he’s made that very clear time and time again. He doesn’t care about anything except for optics. Someone just tell him he won so we can get this over with.
Also, he referred to what’s happening right now as the “Iran Military Conflict” – now yes, technically it’s a conflict and not a war. That’s only because he never got approval through Congress. And he’s only calling it a conflict now to be like “it’s not that bad!”
He’s not that smart.
Tropical Storm Bertha

And moving to weather on the tens and twos…
Tropical Storm Bertha threatened the Gulf Coast on Tuesday, as the storm in the northeastern Gulf of Mexico, sustained winds of up to 60 miles per hour. Conditions are expected to spread and impact western Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and parts of my beloved (because of the people and some of the politicians but not all of them) Texas.
Federal Judge Blocks Deportation

A federal judge has temporarily blocked the deportation of a witness in a murder.
Jose Trinidad Rojas Pliego (PLYEH-goh) was in the car when ICE agents shot and killed Lorenzo Salgado Araujo (uh-ROW-ho).
ICE agents allege that, say it with me now: Salgado Araujo weaponized his vehicle and that’s why they shot him.
Oh, I’m sure. And then, for reasons that I’m sure has nothing to do with the fact that he is a witness to a murder, DHS decided they should deport Pliego – who, by the way, has no criminal record.
Salgado Araujo’s brother, Victor Hugo Salgado Araujo, was also in the vehicle when he was shot and killed. He also does not have a criminal record. Both men are being held in an ICE detention center.
HHS To Withhold Funding

In “okay, let’s see how this works out for you” news…
On Tuesday, the Trump administration announced that it would withhold more than $1 billion in Medicaid payments to California and Minnesota because of suspected fraud.
Per Health and Human Service Secretary RFK Jr (cursed sentence): “We have a duty to stop the payments, demand answers and then follow the evidence wherever it leads.”
That’s… how… are you…
Now how does that work?
We’re going to stop the payments. And then be like okay now that you can’t do the fraud anymore… we’re gonna look into this fraud further.
But that’s not even my thing. My thing is this:
Setting aside the fact that there’s no evidence of fraud, which you weren’t really expecting, were you?, California is a donor state. In 2024, we gave $276 billion more to the federal government than we received.
The state that gives the 2nd most? New York. And they gave $76 billion. We give MORE THAN 3 1/2 times more.
Since Trump loves a Constitutional crisis so much, how about this one… how about California stops giving everyone else money?
How’s that gonna work?
Minnesota, by the way, gives $50 billion more.
So how about you keep our names out of your mouth, stop making up fraud just because you don’t know how to do anything right, and worry about yourself.
Give people their Medicaid you jagweed.
Voting v Olive Garden
In New Jersey, a headline came out on Tuesday morning that I just… look, it was the right thing to do, telling everyone. But still… did ya have to?
Apparently, through no fault of their own but a pure software glitch, 6,600 noncitizens in New Jersey were registered to vote between 2023 and 2024 through what New Jersey’s governor Sherrill’s says is a “serious software error in New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle System.”
They were registered as democrats, republicans, and no party unaffliation, and the voters were spread around the state.
They did not vote in any elections and are obviously being removed from the lists.
But now we’re going to hear about Trump be like see! I told you! 200,000! 6,600 and 200,000 are the same thing because I’m very dumb
By the way, while I will fully admit that 6,600 is a lot, that’s still .098% So roughly .1%
And they’re being removed.
But now the White House again is like – this is why we need the SAVE America Act. We MUST disenfranchise! We just gotta!
“Democrats and their media allies have repeatedly said it is impossible for noncitizens to register to vote, let alone cast a ballot. Time and again, they have been proven wrong.”
Hey, dum dum… these people didn’t vote. This is actually proof the system IS working. Because these noncitizens were flagged and are being removed. This is proof the system works.
Meanwhile, while the Trump administration is running their mouths about how there’s fraud as far as their leering eyes can see…
Olive Garden announced that they’re going to allow 10,000 people to purchase 13 weeks of unlimited pasta for $100.
That’s a WILD deal.
Someone on social meeds needs asked if families can share it as Olive Garden said when you’re home, you’re family, but when you’re here, you need to bring ID.
AND NOW… House Representative Bryan Steil, chair of the Administration Committee, which has jurisdiction over election legislation, said: “We are protecting our breadsticks more than our ballots.”

Get a life
FIRST OF ALL… you have to prove who you are when you register to vote, no matter where you live. No matter the state. You don’t need a voter ID in California, but I still had to prove my identity when I registered to vote.
House Rep Virginia Foxx said: “Heck.You even need to present a photo ID to utilize the Olive Garden Never-Ending Pasta Pass.”
You need an ID for a lot of things you dummy! But although I wish it were, access to never-ending bowls of pasta is not a constitutional right.
And I know that because I’ve asked. A lot.
And now poor Olive Garden is in the middle of this whole conversation. They don’t want to be in this! They’re sitting there, just so happy to not be involved in the bad belly talks, only to now have their name dropped on the House floor during fights about voters IDs?
What a world!
And that’s it. That’s the news.
I’m proud of Olive Garden. $100 for unlimited pasta? The only thing I’m made at there, is that no one told me sooner.
