Title
Good morning! It’s Wednesday, October 28th.
National Chocolate Day
I got in trouble about this before because I said I don’t care about it, since I don’t love chocolate.
Well fear not, luckily there are also first responders in this country and it’s also National First Responders Day. So suck it chocolate, the first responders are here.
And now, the news.
Israeli Elections
-via ABC News
Starting in Israel, where they are also in the middle of some vital elections. Israeli’s went to the polls on Tuesday but there is no clear winner yet.
All we know right now, is that turnout was up. Results are not expected until tomorrow in the first election since the October 7th attack on the country by Hamas.
Bolsonaros Get US Visas
-via AP News
And staying with international elections – after losing the election in Brazil, the Bolsonaros (the son and the father – the father who, I will remind you, literally spearheaded a riot and insurrection, first conspiring with military and intelligence officials to overturn the election results and block the transfer of power before inciting his supporters to storm the National Congress, Supreme Court, and presidential palace)… will now get US visas.
Former President Jair (zh-ay-ear) Bolsonaro is supposed to be under house arrest.
But I guess that means he can come here too.
I mean, the president’s an insurrectionist (ours, I’m saying), so of course he’d be friends with another insurrection.
Can’t help make things better in this country. Can’t lower prices or stop a war. CAN be friends with another insurrectionist.
Great.
Good choice, everyone.
Alex Pretti Investigation
-via NBC News
Michael and Susan Pretti, the parents of Alex Pretti, who was murdered in cold blood by ICE agents nine months ago, held a news conference on Tuesday, alleging that the federal government, the same federal government who murdered their son, “have ignored us, misled us and shielded Alex’s killers.”
This information comes almost a week after the County Attorney said the federal government stopped sharing information with the Minnesota authorities who are investigating Pretti’s murder.
In March, the office sued the Trump administration in an effort to compel federal officials to share key evidence related to not only Pretti’s death but the shootings of Julio Cesar Sosa-Celis, a Venezuelan man wounded by an ICE officer, and Renee Good, who was also murdered by ICE officials.
All three shootings happened in January.
We watched it. We watched two of them happen in cold blood, for no reason other than the fact that the ICE agents just didn’t like the fact that they didn’t agree with them. That’s it.
Alex Pretti’s last words were “Are you OK?”
And this administration is letting their murderers get away with it.
Trump + Epstein
-via Time
And I’m going to end on some bombshell allegations against the president, as it relates to the Epstein files.
This will be the last story in this episode, so if you need to skip it, just know I’m proud of you for taking care of yourself
But if you’re sticking around…
On Monday, Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee released a 52-page report detailing multiple accusations of rape or sexual assault by Donald Trump.
There are five women, five, whose stories aren’t that Donald Trump facilitated Epstein’s crimes. Not that he was a witness to the crimes. (Things he’s also done. Things that are also horrific.)
No, there are five women who directly accuse Trump of raping or sexually assaulting them in Epstein’s company or direct physical presence.
In the report, eleven women total (including those five) have directly tied Trump to Epstein’s sex trafficking operation.
One woman “credibly alleges that Trump violently raped her at a November 1993 pageant at the Plaza Hotel in New York City and that Epstein, Trump, and others used this pageant as a “hunting ground” to prey on vulnerable young women and girls”
Another “offered a detailed and corroborated account of Trump sexually assaulting her in the early 1990s while she was alone with him and Epstein in an office at Trump Tower.
A third “publicly detailed Trump aggressively pursuing and violently sexually assaulting her and another woman in 1994 at a Mar-a-Lago party where Epstein and Trump were the only men present”
A fourth “gave FBI a detailed account of her repeated rape at the hands of Trump and Epstein in 1994 in New York City when she was a minor”
And a fifth women “offered FBI a graphic account of Trump assaulting her when she was a minor in the mid-1980s in New York by forcibly pushing her head down to his exposed penis.”
Those last two were minors.
MINORS.
Additionally:
Two Epstein survivors “told FBI that either Epstein or Maxwell seemingly offered them up to Trump for the purposes of sex or indicated their availability.”
All of these are credible accounts. In fact, those two were called to testify as government witnesses against Ghislaine Maxwell.
A third “described how Epstein had to actively prevent Trump from preying on her late at night after Trump confused her with a teenage girl potentially victimized by Epstein.”
A teenager.
There’s more. “In one case, Epstein joked perversely that he sold ‘a fully depreciated woman’ to Trump.”
Also included: “Trump paid for yet another young model to live at one of his buildings in New York, around the time when she was flying on Epstein’s jet with Maxwell and Prince Andrew.”
The report is hard to read and this part is hard to repeat, but it has to be noted:
“These reports do not stand alone, and they are not aberrations. They are remarkably consistent with the extensive public reports of Trump’s sexual misconduct at the time. Other women have accused Trump of a range of sexual misconduct at similar modeling events and parties in New York and Palm Beach—including Trump arranging for pageant contestants as young as 14 to dance for him and his frequent practice of walking into changing rooms while young girls were in a state of undress. Indeed, Trump has acknowledged this lecherous behavior, boasting he could ‘get away with it’ because he owned the pageants in question. In 2005, in the now notorious Access Hollywood recording, Trump bragged that ‘when you’re a star, [beautiful women] let you do it. You can do anything. Grab ‘em by the pussy. You can do anything.’ When asked about this video in a civil deposition, Trump defended this statement, stating that he was one such ‘star.’ In total, more than 25 different women—some connected to Epstein and many not—have independently accused Donald Trump of rape, sexual assault, or other sexual misconduct. His ex-wife Ivana Trump stated in a sworn deposition during their divorce proceedings that Trump had physically and sexually assaulted her in 1989, pulling out clumps of her hair and raping her after an argument.”
And of course, he was found liable for a sexual assault against E. Jean Carroll so egregious that a judge said it was rape, but it couldn’t be called that because of the narrow framing of the law.
This is horrific, damning… and I had to look for the report because none of the major news outlets are leading with it.
The president of the United States is being credibly accused of the rape of multiple women, including minors.
And this will be, as it has been, not enough for the Republicans to turn their back on.
They’re going to let him support them. Stump for them.
The president of the United States is an accused child rapist.
And they will allow him to represent them because he’ll still turn out votes.
Politics aside, truly politics aside, every single politician (Republican or Democrat, I don’t care) who stands by this president, who doesn’t demand a full investigation of this president, deserves to lose their job.
And it’s clearer than ever that we much take back the House and Senate because it is the ONLY way that we will ever see Trump have full consequences for what he did.
And frankly, anyone who can hear something like this and isn’t worried and demanding an investigation is someone who needs to do some deep, deep work on themselves.
No wonder he never wanted to look into the Epstein Files… what else is hidden in there?
And that’s it. That’s the news.
Six days. This man cannot be allowed to hold the same amount of power he does now.
Let’s get it done.
I’m proud of you.
